Yes, it is final. Keyakizaka46 will now be known as Sakurazaka46. The group will continue under the new name and start fresh from Oct 14, 2020.

It all started back in July, when Keyakizaka46 at their 'KEYAKIZAKA46 Live Online, but with YOU!' announced that they will be ceasing their activities as Keyakizaka46 soon after their final live on October 12 and 13 and then restart fresh under a brand new name. In the meantime they released (date - 2020.08.21) their last single (9th Single) on Dare ga Sono Kane wo Narasu no ka? (誰がその鐘を鳴らすのか?; Who Will Ring the Bell?).
The announcement was made on some of the most well known advertising spaces at Shibuya Station, Tokyo where a commercial of the group's new branding was displayed. This announcement was also made in their weekly Variety TV show "Keyakitte, Kakenai?".

Sakurazaka46 Get a new Variety Show named as Soko Magattara Sakurazaka? (そこ曲がったら、櫻坂？) with the first episode of the new series airing on 19 October 2020 replacing Keyakitte Kakenai which ran for 5 years with over 250+ episodes. The set has also got a complete makeover with the Greens replaced with the Sakura Pink. However, there is no change in the show's MC. It will be hosted by Japanese comedians Tsuchida Teruyuki and Sawabe Yuu.
FIRST SINGLE NEWS
Sakurazaka46 will release their first single titled " Nobody's fault " on December 9, 2020. The single's title and the remaining 6 coupling songs will only feature 14 members - the lowest member count ever. The formation will also feature the core members called Sakura 8 (similar to AKB48's Kami-7 and Nogizaka46's Fukujin) and the remaining 6 members is a complete lottery. Members will get rotated so all get to be a part of the single's final outcome. There is basically no Senbatsu but the management will decide on these core members based on the type of the song and the performance that is needed to make it a hit. This is very significant change here.

Morita Hikaru as CENTER... WTF!! You got Kobayashi, Risa and still this!! Nothing personal again her but this is outrageous.. Bad move when you consider the group is starting afresh. Also the dwindling numbers for the formation sounds doom for more older members and you can see a few more of them graduating soon. The last episode of Keyakitte Kakenai saw both Sato Shiori and Ishimori Nijika graduate from the group.
