Theatre Edition Cover
Single Announcement: The single details were announced on February 23, 2022, during that day's episode of AKB48, Saikin Kiita? ~Issho ni Nanka Yatte Mimasen ka?~. On April 18, the music video for "Motokare Desu" was announced that it was set to released on April 20 along with the dance version of "Motokare Desu" as well.

Single Release Statement:

AKB48 dances the “GANMI dance” with flying lights which move around freely as though in an alternate dimension because the “Lighting choreographer” operates and calculates the effect perfectly.

The song, ‘Motokare Desu’ is the 59th single for AKB48 and they are aiming to get even better this time compared to their last single ‘Ne mo Ha mo Rumor’, which got famous with its “unbelievably amazing dance”.

Dance artist GANMI created the “GANMI dance” which attracts attention from the world as though people couldn’t stop staring at it.
This music video was directed by Minoru Fujimoto (MPLUSPLUS Co.,Ltd.,). He participated in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games opening ceremony directing LED last year.

Lyrics: All lyrics by Akimoto Yasushi
Composer: Satori Shiraishi
Arrangement: Shiraishi

Song and Choreography: The song is a nice and has an uptempo groove. Singing of main verse is mainly chorus which make them sound similar to Keyaki/Sakura46 songs.
Moto Kare desu is choreographed by dance group GANMI, who are known for choreographing for KPop groups & Japanese Artists.

Motokare Desu - Music Video:
Directed by: Minoru Fujimoto
Concept: The music video showing variety technology of LED performance such as LED pole who will changing shapes imitating the members hand gestures and so on. A lot of time and effort was put in to film the MV and it took two days to filming the music videos.

Fujimoto Explained:

There are 20 wireless moving lights which are battery operated, and 40 LED poles, and waving LED ribbons which appear during the interlude. I wanted to break the concept that the stage set is supposed to be still and “stand behind the performer”.

I wanted to create a music video which has a theme of uniting the artist and the space. Then the ribbon performer comes next to the face. The light dance with the performer is very synchronizing. We got this effect as the moving lights are wireless and we were able to put them inside the dance floor.

The LED poles changed its shape gradually and they copied the choreography of the performer's right arm and left arm and danced with the performer. Though the artist is the main character in the music video, this music video is about expanding its space.

MV Dance Version:

Now that Matsui Jurina & Miyawaki Sakura have graduated, naturally the Center pick without a shadow of a doubt is .... Okada Nana! I cannot believe Kashiwagi Yuki is still going strong and performing in AKB48. The other key member is the returning AKB Ace Honda Hitomi, after wrapping up her stint as IZ*One member (for good).

Fact:

AKB48 performed their 58th single's title song Ne mo Ha mo Rumor in ONGAKUNOHI 2021 on 17 July 2021.
