Nogizaka46 released "Shiawase no Hogoshoku" (しあわせの保護色, "The Protective Coloration of Happiness" or "Happiness Camouflage") on March 25, 2020 and it serves as the last Single for Shiraishi Mai who has been part of all 25 Singles released by Nogizaka46. Shiraishi will be graduating from the group.
The Single is to be made available in 5 formats. Type A, B, C, D and Regular. All tracks are written by Yasushi Akimoto. Note that no one apart from Akimoto has penned thus far for Nogizaka46. But for this Single, Shiraishi wrote and performed a solo for the Type-A coupling song "Jyāne".

Review: Same as Sing Out, little damp song. Has a very true Pop feel to it. It's is well conducted and there are no variations in tempo. It's a happy song no doubt but just a one off. Not one for a repeat playback. 3 out of 5 Stars! But this will make the Nogizaka46 Featured songs list in Idol46 Hit list.

Review: Little disappointed here honestly. Another mellow song in Hinatazaka46 style. Also reminds me of 'Kimi No Na Wa Kibou'. 3 out of 5 Stars!

Review:
Although not as good as Influencer or Hadashi de Summer, this will be a cherished single for all Shiraishi Mai fans.

The MV is directed by Kazuma Ikeda who also worked on "Seifuku no mannequin," "Kodoku kyodai" and "Synchronicity." Video was shot in February at Yamanashi studio. The concept of colorfulness is displayed and the title itself translates to "the protective coloring of happiness" where the other Nogizaka46 members bid Shiraishi Mai good-bye in good-ol American Prom Style.
Video starts off in a Dormitory setting with Shiraishi & other members waking up and getting ready to sing and dance around with her. Colorful setting and costumes are a feature here making the video vibrant.
It is said that this MV was a very emotional one for Nogizaka46 members, as they kept weeping after each take and rushed towards Shiraishi Mai.
In a particular scene at 3min 56sec into the MV, Shiraishi receives a flower bouquet. She is seen holding back her tears as the other members on set crying. Finally all the members dance together in formation and bid good-bye to Shiraishi as she is seen about to walk out the door but turns around and smiles!
