Nogizaka46 1st & 2nd Gen Graduations

It is unbelievable that after all these years there is not going to be a single Gen 1 or Gen 2 member in Nogizaka46. The group to me become a lot less interesting now all key senior members are no longer performing with the group. But, I will key an beady eye out for their music.

All this came to an end with Gen 2 member Suzuki Ayane graduating on March 28, 2023. In February, Gen 1 member and team captain Akimoto Manatsu, the longest serving member of Nogizaka46 & Gen 1 graduated during their 11th Year Birthday Live held between February 22-26, 2023.

Let's take a look of all major graduations year by year of the group involving Gen 1 and Gen 2 members.

Nogizaka46 was officially announced in June 2011 and the first generation debuted with 36 members in August 2011.

Nov 2011: The first Gen 1 member to graduate was Yumiko Iwase. The reason was that she quickly figured out that there was no way that she can make it into the Senbatsu let alone become the Center even though she had all the looks and charms to be one. With no obvious opportunities, she took the easy way out! Graduate... Wonder what would have happened if she stayed on for a while longer... Saito Asuka only became center by Single #15... Anyway...
