TWICE Formula of Love

TWICE & JYP Entertainment come out loaded with their 3rd Full Album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" featuring the title track “SCIENTIST” and other tracks. Released on Friday, November 12th, it's another hot selling album from TWICE. The album explores the various shapes of the true love formula that you can never find anywhere.

Album Compilation:

Its physical edition contains fifteen tracks, including the lead single, "Scientist", and the Korean version of "The Feels"; while its digital edition contains sixteen tracks, including the original English version of "The Feels" and R3hab's remix of "Scientist". The album features Dance-pop and Hip-hop genres. Twice members Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung took part in writing some songs.

Album Title & Concept:

The album's title, Formula of Love: O+T=<3, has two meanings according to Twice. The letters O and T represent the initials of Once—the group's official fandom name—and Twice, respectively, while the heart symbol (<3) represents love; thus, the "formula of love" can be verbalized as "Once plus Twice equals love". The letters O and T also represent the initials of numbers 1 (one) and 2 (two), respectively, while the number 3 in the heart symbol (<3) represents the position of Formula of Love: O+T=<3 in Twice's Korean albums chronology. 

Commercial Success:

With the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group in 2021, selling an impressive total of 238,631 copies on Hanteo, this is TWICE’s second-most successful album. While its title track 'Scientist' charts #12 iTunes Top Songs list, #24 on US Apple Music Chart, the album debuted at #6 on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart. Its already the groups best selling album with over 700K pre-orders. In South Korea, it topped Bugs and entered the top 50 of FLO, MelOn and Genie charts, the most popular K-pop streaming music platform.

Title Song:

SCIENTIST - the title song, has a blend of deep house and dance-pop with 80's synth beats. It refers to "love is not something you can calculate, study and try to find an answer to but is something you should follow with your heart.". In a trailer, Twice members dressed up as scientists at the "Twice Love Lab", a laboratory where they conduct "love experiments". The dance was choreographed by La Chica. 

But, this is something you have heard before, well at least the tune of the song.. remember Umpah Umpah of Red Velvet!! Now that song was something unforgettable.
