Whiteberry (ホワイトベリー) were a five-piece all-girl pop/rock band from Kitami, Hokkaido, Japan. Formed in 1994, comprising of vocalist Yuki Maeda, guitarist Aya Inatsuki, bassist Yukari Hasegawa, keyboardist Rimi Mizusawa, and drummer Erika Kawamura. They came into focus when popular Japanese rock band Judy and Mary noticed them and thus they landed a deal with Sony Japan in 1999.
The Music - Recording and Production could have been way better because even though they are from the early 2000s they gave a feel that was of a more Retro Classic Rock Band of the early late 80 & 90's!
While still in high school they recorded their first EP After School. It was their 3rd Single, the 4th release overall, a cover or Jitterin Jinn that put them on spotlight and the cover of "Natsu Matsuri" became a popular hit with Japanese Music Fans.

Track #01 - Tuugaku Ro (4/5)
Great song and nice music composition. Singing in certain parts is out of whack. Otherwise a clean song.
Track #05 - Natsu Matsuri (5/5)
This classic rework of Jitterin Jinn is the best know and popular song of Whiteberry. It has awesome Vocal delivery, punchy Bass with rhythm and Guitar work.
Track #07 - Negai Hoshi/Boshi
A classic - very neat vocals. Gives a nice Retro feel. Synth galore!
Track #09 - Sakura Namiki Michi (5/5)
This was such a great surprise. Absolutely wonderful composition and great guitar work on both the initial intro strums as well as the mid part solo.
Track #13 - Soredake Nanda Kedo (Audio) (5/5)
A fast paced song and perfectly executed. Composition is brilliant.
Track #14 - Shoujiki Mono (3/5)
This is kinda all over the place.
Track #15 - Tansan Mizu/Sui (Audio)
A low-key song. Brilliantly sung.
Track #16 - Jitensha Dorobou
Great Intro music bit. Retro, almost Caribbean slow swinging feel. Grab a Pina Colada guys! The background bits, voilins are the soul of the song.
Track #20 - Shinjuru Chikara (Audio)
Another classic. Very beautiful song. Vocals and composition are excellent.
Other Good Songs:
Tokimeki Love Call (3/5)
Another song that is all over the place. The main verse is the good thing about the song and a neat ending.
