Best of NGT48

NGT48 (read "N.G.T. Forty-eight") is a Japanese girl group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. NGT48 is named after Niigata City of Niigata Prefecture, where the group is based.

The group performs at the NGT48 Theater which is located in the fourth floor of the LoveLa2 shopping mall in Niigata City. It is the fourth currently active domestic sister group of AKB48.

The 1st Generation members were announced on July 25, 2015, debuting on January 10, 2016. Members were classified as 1st Gen, 3rd Draft, 2nd Gen and Trainees with 45 original members over their 2 generations (Plus Draft members but not including transferred and Kennin members). As of December 2020, NGT48 currently has 29 members.

Of these AKB48 stars Kitahara Rie & Kashiwagi Yuki joined NGT48 in 2016. Rie has now graduated while Yuki has ended her concurrency. Ogino Yuka remains the only original NGT48 member to have cracked top 10 in AKB 9th Senbatsu Election with Rank #5 & 10th Senbatsu Election Rank #4 and feature in Senbatsu (Kami 7) of AKB48 Single twice.

The group has released 5 singles till date (Feb 2021) charting #1 on debut (with 160k copies sold) and 3rd Single and charted #2 in their 2nd, 4th and 5th single. They have sold just over 1 million records.

HKT48 vs. NGT48 Sashikita Gassen (HKT48vsNGT48さしきた合戦) was a variety TV show featuring members from HKT48 and NGT48, which started airing from January 4, 2016 to March 29, 2016, Mondays at 25:29 JST on NTV with a duration of 30 minutes. It had 12 episodes. The show featured members of both groups participating head-to-head contests, pranks, physical prowess challenges, or idol appeal battles to try and score a win for their group. The show was hosted by HKT Leader Sashihara Rino, with Kitahara Rie as co-host from NGT48.
