Yanakoto Sotto Mute

Yanakoto Sotto Mute (やなことそっとミュート - 'Yanamyu' for short) is a Japanese idol group formed in August 2016, they are the sister group of Bellring Shoujo Heart. It has 4 members - Mamiya Mani (間宮ま), Nadeshiko (なでしこ), Minami Ichika (南一花) & Rena (レナ). Rena, withdrew from the group in August 2019. In December 2019, they added a new member Rin Tsukasa.

They appear under the label Crimson Printing, managed by DCG ENTERTAINMENT, Perfect Music and produced by composer/arranger Hiroaki Taniyama. Their Music Genre is Alternative Rock. As with other idol groups they usually perform with no live band except for few key shows where the band accompanies them as in THE GATE Live at ZeppDiverCity, January 2019.

What does Yanakoto Sotto Mute mean? Well it's “gently mute the unpleasant things” and “While gently muting the unpleasant things in everyday life might not solve anything, for the time being, let’s sing rock with a sorrowful melody”. How did I discover the? Well, I was after the full version of Billie Idle's Everydays which I got to listen on Google Play music and Yanakoto Sotto Mute's Lily popped up as a suggestion. And Voila!! Instant Fan in the making.. Rest is History!!

Coming to their singing... I am simply blown away by Nadeshiko high pitch voice. This is something unique in JPop Idols and I can go listening to her voice on and on... Something similar to what KPop groups have in their lineups.. A high pitcher to hit those high notes... Mamiya Mani keeps the pleasent flow going and holds the song while Minami Ichika & Rena fill in the rest.

The Music has a dark, mellow, grunge like hypnotic vibe with powerful guitar riffs, booming bass and pounding of drums. It can't be explained and needs to be experienced. This is something I have been waiting for a long time. Yeah BabyMetal rock, but it's Heavy Metal. This is simply more "Precise" and "Rhythmic". Rock Music baby, swing to the groove. Turn it On & Play it L O U D!!!

Though they have performed at Tokyo Idol Festival, Jam Expo, Shibuya West, Aksaka Blitz, Zepp Divercity and at local Japanese Music Clubs they got their American Break for the first time at the East Meets West Music Festival 2018 in Anaheim, CA.
