Silent Siren

Silent Siren (サイレントサイレン, Sairento Sairen, stylized as SILENT SIREN) is a Japanese all-female band formed in 2010 and associated with Platinum Production.

History:

In the middle of 2010 Yoshida Sumire (Suu) and Umemura Hinako (Hinanchu) both models for "CUTiE" magazine at that point in time, met in between shots and shared their love for music. The band was formed when Hinanchu invited her friends Yamauchi Aina (Ainyan) and Ayana Sogawa (Yana) to meet Suu. Suu took up penning Lyrics, Guitar and Vocals, Ainyan manned the Bass, Hinanchu took Drums and Yana played the Synthesizer.

They performed their first live in October 2011 at the AGESTOCK 2011 in TOKYO DOME CITY HALL event. Four months later, in February 2012, the band debuted under the indies label Brand-New Music with the mini-album Saisai, an acronym for Silent Siren.

After the release of a second mini-album "Love Shiru" in July 2012, and after their first tour ended that same month, Yana left the band. In August 2012, Yamauchi recommended her friend, Kurosaka Yukako(Yukarun), as a replacement, who appeared in the magazine Ray as an amateur model. Yukarun took up Keyboards. Only a few months later, in November, the new line-up debuted under the major label Dreamusic with the single "Sweet Pop!" on November 14, 2012. In April, 2013 they released their first Album titled Start→.

Silent Siren became the fastest girl band to perform since debut at the famed Nippon Budokan, on January 17, 2015, as part of their first solo act. The band gain popularity not only in Japan but also parts of Asia (Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan) and in US, where they have toured and performed live. Hugely popular Japanese Manga Series Sailor Moon feature the band for one of the songs in their Tribute Album.

The band is supported by Naoki Kubo (クボナオキ) — Backing Guitar (2012–present) and Michie (みっちー) — Backing Guitar (2012–2015). They are currently under the EMI Records label.

Musical Style:

Silent Siren has created a new wave of truly hip and groovy music over the last decade and are still going strong. This mix of Rock and Electro Pop with booming Bass, Rhythmic Guitar Strums and Mellow Drum Beats is really a pleasure to listen to. Suu pens most songs which are very true and honest.

The albums usually consists of 10-14 songs and on average they manage to pull out 3-4 stunning songs and 1 overwhelming hit. All the albums churned out great songs except 31313.
