GANG PARADE

This post is long over due. Better late than never.

GANG PARADE (ギャングパレード), a.k.a. Pla2me (プラニメ) / POP (ピォピ) was a Japanese Idol group formed in 2014 by the WACK Agency headed by JxSxK. The group uses the catchphrase "Minna no Asobiba" (みんなの遊び場; "Everyone's Playground").

History of GANG PARADE:

Origins (2014/15): Originally called Pla2me they were a duo with Mizuta Mari and ex-BiS member Kamiya Saki until former's graduation when they decided to rebrand the group. Pla2me, were the first artists to be signed to WACK Agency and had relesed 2 singles Plastic 2 Mercy and UNIT.

Renaming (2015/16): Newly renamed as POP, the group recruited 4 new members Yamamachi Miki, Yumeno Yua, Shigusawa Ao and Inukai Maaya at Mizuta Mari's graduation in 2015 and during that event it was announced that the group name would be changed to POP (Period of Plastic 2 Mercy) and released their first self titled Album - P.O.P. they held few live shows and One Man in an attempt to build an audiance. Later that year in Tokyo Idol Festival, the group was kicked out due misbehavior from their fans. Kamiya Saki, known for a daring stage dives and outrageous antics got banned from the group indefinitely, but later returned after finishing a 100k marathon on the eve of P.O.P. next single. They also released another single on March 3rd 2016 called POP, QUEEN OF POP. Ao and Maaya left the group and Can Maika was included as a new member.

The SiS Intrusion (2016): When BiS was reformed again back in 2016, they auditioned for lot of members and selected 5 including BiS founder Pour Lui who got drafted back into BiS. But there were still a lot of members in WACK's mind to spawn a rival group called SiS (Shimizu Idol Society). More notably in November 2016, former SiS members Terashima Yuka, Yui Ga Dockson, and Coco Partin Coco joined the group. The group released their 3rd Album Barely Last. The Birth of GANG PARADE (2017): GANG PARADE was another rebranding exersice from WACK group and they re-released their first single Plastic 2 Mercy.

At the WACK Exhibition in March 2017, it was announced that Kamiya Saki and BiS member Aya Eightprince would trade places till September 2017 which was later extended upto March 2018. After an audition, Tsukino Usagi and Haruna Bad Chiiiin were included into the group.

Hitting the Big Time (2019): The group signed up with FUELED BY MENTAIKO, a Warner Music Japan subsidiary. They went on to release a series of Singles / Blu-Ray, did Live Shows/Concerts, PC Game tracks etc.

The Inevitable / Changing Times (2020): In January 2020, founding member Kamiya Saki announced Graduation. Haruna Bad Chiiiin too quit the group without any explaination. After 5 years of existence GANG PARADE finally got recognised at 35th Gold Disc awards for "Best New Artist".

Sister group member Kila May was promoted into the group. Apprently due to Watanabe Junnosuke (JxSxK) suggestion the group was split, due to dissatisfaction with GANG PARADE's relative lack of success.

As a result in 2020, GANG PARADE split into two separate units, GO TO THE BEDS (Yamamachi Miki, Yumeno Yua, Can GP Maika, Yui Ga Dockson and Coco Partin Coco) and PARADISES (Terashima Yuuka, Tsukino Usagi, Naruhaworld and Kira May). Following the split, and the graduation of original member and leader Kamiya Saki, the group has been inactive. Their final act as GANG PARADE was on May 23rd at Nakano Sunplaza and the rest as they say is history!

My Personal Best Single:

"GANG 2" is the 9th single by GANG PARADE, released on May 29th, 2018 under T-Palette Records. The single featured members: Kamiya Saki, Yamamachi Miki, Yumeno Yua, Can GP Maika, Yui Ga Dockson, Coco Partin Coco, Terashima Yuka, Tsukino Usagi (debut) and Haruna Bad Chiiiin (debut). The single was relesed in 2 editions. The single charted 5th in Oricon Weekly selling 28,438 copies in Japan. This single deserves a 5 star rating!!
